State of the Blog Address

While it is stating the obvious, 2011 has seen a major drop off in the number of posts to this blog and several extended periods of no posts.  This has been a challenging year, and an especially difficult summer.  Without going too deeply into personal details, suffice it to say that several members of the older generation of my family received basically a time table to complete their bucket list and then this summer two members of my generation unexpectedly left us well before their time.  My wrestling fetish and the blog are interests and hobbies; family is family and I come from one of those types of families where family is defined in a broad sense and we stay close.  Family circumstances require more of my time these days.

Rants Roids n Rasslin' is not going away, but obviously the posting will continue to be more sporadic.  There may be more single panel posts versus multi-panel web comics, and web comics that do get created will probably be shorter.  Fact is guys, I remember when I felt lucky to find an illustrated wrestling story that might have 4 or 5 pieces of art.  To my knowledge, other than this blog, my friend Art's Yahoo Group (now defunct thanks to Yahoo) and a Poser artist who had a Yahoo Group about 5 years back (also now defunct) were just about the only places where longer multi-panel illustrated wrestling stories were posted.  Unfortunately in today's society, the more that is given, the more that is expected.

Likewise, Arena Island isn't going away unless Yahoo does it unilaterally, but no telling when something might get posted.

I've always been a bit taken aback at the volume of interest in what I perceived to be a very narrow-interest blog when I started Rants Roids n Rasslin.  We just passed the 3 year anniversary and I checked the stats for the first time in a long time:  1.8 million page views and almost half a million visits to the blog in those three years.  I'll continue to try to come up with some unique material and other types of posts, but just posting pictures to be able to post something has never been my approach, and frankly most of you probably already know where to find these pictures as well as spots I've yet to discover.

So, hang in there.  There may be periods where I get some time and inspiration and get very active, followed by periods where I just won't be posting much of anything - you can never tell.  Ya just gotta take life one day at a time and deal with things.

PS - Hope Colt didn't get off on a tangent; these comic characters are difficult to control some times.  Of course if you want to tell HIM you didn't like what he said, good luck - he's an orney cuss with lots of dirty tricks up his sleeve.

Good posts with great stories and arousing art *grin* are always appreciated whenever they appear. Those of us who enjoy your stories/art know its anticipations which make things that come even hotter.

Your blog stories and art are always appreciated whatever their length or posting time frame. I'm sure all your readers think that as well.

As for me, the anticipations of upcoming posts are extra spice in the mix. I look forward to the future readings and art especially your awesomely inspired work, " tales of lost continent"

Its great to see that your still trying to keep things going still. Some people forget that its hard to draw or write things when you have other things going on that gets in the way. Glad to see that your still continuing and heres hoping that whenever you get to the next comic that it could be one between Alexios and Deimos. Look forward to see more of your fantastic work.
